Presentation: What is mesotherapy?

Hair mesotherapy is a scalp injection technique that aims to directly provide micronutrients and antioxidants to the hair. The goal of this technique is to limit hair loss, help densify weakened or miniaturized hair and promote rapid regrowth. This technique is intended for men and women. It does not require prior anesthesia. It is a particularly interesting tool in androgenetic alopecia and telogen effluvium (transient hair loss).

Hair mesotherapy is often associated with LED photobiomodulation (or LLLT: Low Level Laser Therapy). This is a low-energy laser that will potentiate the action of the mesotherapy injection.

This procedure consists of injecting a mesotherapy solution adapted to hair regrowth via a very fine sterile needle. The mesotherapy solution contains micronutrients (vitamins, hyaluronic acid, etc.) and antioxidants. The depth and distribution rate of the product will also be adapted according to the expected result and the patient. LED photobiomodulation consists of obtaining a cellular response after the action of a low-energy light. This results at the mitochondrial level in an increase in the production of cellular energy (ATP synthesis) and the number of cells. At the capillary level, the hair is denser and hair loss frequently slows down.

How does hair mesotherapy work?

After rigorous asepsis, the procedure can begin. The duration of the session may vary depending on the size and difficulty of the area to be treated, but never exceeds 15 minutes. After the injections, the doctor suggests that you benefit from an LED session that lasts approximately 25 minutes depending on the medical protocol chosen. Several sessions should be considered as an attack treatment (generally 4 to 6 sessions, at intervals of 15 days). Then, maintenance sessions are recommended (1 per quarter on average). In all cases, the treatment and follow-up are always personalized.

Side effects and contraindications

In general, the hair mesotherapy session may be slightly sensitive. It is more of a limited discomfort, not requiring prior local anesthesia. The after-effects are very simple, and the resumption of a normal life is immediate.
